A camera for Christmas

My youngest is a lot like me.  She loves to take pictures and tell stories and make art projects.  (I love that she calls them art projects.)  She plays with spray mist and stickers.  She makes books and cards and all sorts of stuff.  It is cool that one of them likes so many of the same things I do!

So for Christmas this girl asked for a camera.  She likes to use my Instax, but that gets boring when it runs out of film and mom hasn't bought any more, so she wanted a real camera.  A pink one at that.

To show me how she was ready for a real, pink camera, she practiced...

She framed her shot and everything.  Personally, I love the way she squints one eye.

She is fun.  And I am happy to say she did get her little pink camera and a little pink camera case for Christmas.  She was THRILLED!!  And now she carries it everywhere she goes.  I wonder who she got that from!

Have a fun New Year's Eve!!  And thanks for stopping by!

I can't help it...

My middle daughter loves the color green.  Everything she wants needs to be green.  Her lunch box, her iPod, her bedroom walls, ALL GREEN!  Well, as much as she loves the color green, when I look at her, I just do not see green.  I see pink.  It drives her nuts because I always pull out the pink first and she has to say no.  Oh well.  It is what I see when I look at her.

For this page I used a bunch of American Crafts supplies.  It is some of the new XOXO line mixed with bits and pieces of other lines.  Just fun.  I tried to bring in some of the loved green too.  :-)

So, I am off today to celebrate Christmas for the 3rd time.  Have a great weekend!

Thanks for stopping by!

A moment...

I am seeing a trend about myself...  I am BEHIND!  Sad but true.  The holidays, well, the holiday preparations are kicking my butt and I am feeling overwhelmed and crazed and nothing seems to be really happening when my best laid plans are wanting it to.  This page for instance...

My monthly moment.  Where I am on the 8th each month.  Yep, it is the 20th, but this was me on the 8th.  Not as cray cray as I am feeling now, but noticing how maybe it will quickly be out of control.

  • looking forward to a Christmas party I had that night with some of my best friends...
  • sleepy because of the early mornings.  (wishing for one day to sleep in.)
  • planning out  new career.
  • nervous about trying something new.  (this was a recipe for the party that night.  i had never tried it before.  eeks!!  luckily it was great!)
  • afraid i really screwed up.  (this was work - old career that i still do.  it all ended up ok but it was an embarrassing mistake on my part.)
  • ready for the decorations to be up.  (i usually have this up the day after thanksgiving and this year it dragged on WAY TOO LONG!)
  • wanting to enjoy the time.  (this is my wish every year.  and i do, but i have daydreams of relaxed days that i can just have fun activities with my girls and not feel the rush, rush, rush.  this is something i need to work on.)
  • thinking that Christmas is really coming fast!  (and it is almost here!!!!  where did my december go???)

So how are you all doing this time of year??  I am excited but still feel like there is too much.  I think it is mostly in my mind and like always it will totally end up awesome.

Have a great day all.  Thanks for stopping by!

See you in 2013...

Well, not YOU.  The beach is what I am talking about here.  To use the SRM 2013 stickers, I needed to think forward.  So what could I be looking forward to in 2013?  Getting a year older?  My husband's busy season?  Soccer season starting again?  Nope!  The beach!

So what are you looking forward to in 2013??

Have a great Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Using larger photos

I do not usually use large photos on my layouts.  I have gotten more and more into the smaller photos.  I feel like it gives me more room to play with supplies.  But also it is because I am too impatient to wait on the photos to arrive.  The small ones I am able to print at home so I can get to scrappping right away.    This month at American Crafts though I needed to use some larger photos so I had to do some planning.

As a side note on these photos, I had them printed at Persnickety Prints.  I ordered them on a Saturday and I received a shipping notification an hour and eleven minutes later.  You have to LOVE that kind of service.  They came so fast and the quality was amazing.  I will definitely use them again.

Anyway, here are my large photo pages.  I am back on the beach photos.

I LOVE the gold in the new Dear Lizzy stuff.  It just makes me so, so happy.  It may have something to do with my current obsession for the color color yellow right now, but I don't care.  The gold rocks.

These shipping tags with the words already cut out are fabulous too.  Just a fun touch on a page.

So I am really liking this large photo thing and will probably do it again.  I need to plan a little first though and get some photos loaded and ordered.

Have a great Monday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Countdown to Christmas with Pink Paislee

Pink Paislee is counting down the days to Christmas this month with some really incredible projects.  I have been following them since the first and am in awe of the coolness that those girls create.  Today, it is my turn to share over there.  Inspired my the December Daily, I have created a mini album/art journal for the month of December.

There are more that 25 pages in this thing so I have room for the Christmas stuff that we did before December started.  I am on my way!!  I have my fingers crossed that I get it finished!!

Have a great Friday!!  Thanks for stopping by.

The first snow

We do not get a lot of snow here.  My kids talk about snow every winter though, hoping to have a nice, think blanket to play in.  The first snow that actually accumulated here since my youngest was born was back in February of 2010.  She thought it was the COOLEST thing ever.  We made a snowman and ran around... until it melted a few hours later.  Snow doesn't stay long either.

See her guy?  He's decked out in a Gulf Shores baseball hat.  He knows he will be just water soon enough.  LOL.

For this page, I used the newest collection from Little Yellow Bicycle called Winterings.  The colors are soft and pretty.  I love them.  Perfect for snow.  And the title makes me sing Justin Bieber Christmas songs in my head.  Yeah, I know, weird.

Have a great Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

December JBS Reveal

It is December so it is time for the reveal of the newest Jenni Bowlin kits.  They are great and beautiful, as always.  Here are the pages that I created with the kits.

The chevrons were made with the exclusive stencil in the main kit.  Awesome!

Make sure to check out the fabulous design team gallery too.

Happy Monday!  Thanks for stopping by.
