Buttons, buttons...

I have not really given a lot of thought to buttons. They are essential to helping my clothes stay on and all, so I am thankful, but I am talking in scrapbooking here. I use buttons all the time, love to collect them, ooo and ahhh over the manufacturers that put them out. Buttons are cool, but seriously, they are not something that I have focused on.

But this week is button week over at PaperCrafter's Corner and they are talking about different and creative ways to use buttons.

I created a page with buttons for this week...

I included buttons on my banners to jazz those up a little.

And I put her time for this race on a card behind the photo. On the flip side of the card is a little journaling as well.

So remember, button week is going on all week long and the projects are fabulous!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

My girl is always fun

She really is. It is just her personality. Everything and everyday is a party. I love her half full outlook, how she loves to laugh, and easily she sees the good side. I wish I was more like this myself.

So when I decided to create a layout using all the new SRM border stickers it was pretty easy to decide who I was going to scrapbook. The border stickers are just so happy and fun that it had to be be my littlest girl.

Bright. Happy. Fun. Totally.

And a great way to start a Monday!

Have a great day all! Thanks for stopping by!

I can tell...

that summer really is winding down. What clued me in?? Well, you'd think it was school starting, but we managed to keep that it's still summertime feeling. I mean the weather still screams summer. The pool is still open. It is still light out until 9 at night. But you know what is missing that we had in the summer?

I felt like we were going-going-going all summer long, but now that fall things like school, dance, practice, and homework are consuming us, I have realized that we had a whole LOT of time before. Now it is scheduled craziness, but craziness all the same. But with three active kids, what can you do?

So dedicated to those last few days that I must have taken for granted...

This is the last of my Dear Lizzy Neapolitan collection Sniff. Sniff. Definitely one of my all time favorites.

So, what about you? Are you still in full on SUMMERTIME? Or is the feeling leaving you too.

Have a great Friday all! Thanks for stopping by!

3rd grade and a new school

We changed the schools this year. It was a good change. The old school was wonderful, but so is the new. This was a change desired by one, not really thought about for one, and dreaded by one. You'd think that the oldest would be the one that was fighting the change. I mean, right before high school and all, but she was actually the one looking forward to it. Because for her it all boiled down to friends. Well, for my rising 3rd grader, it all boiled down to friends and that is why this change was awful for her.

She has had the same bestie since kindergarten and they have been lucky enough to be in the same class for three years. Well, leaving her was the hardest thing for my girl to deal with. It was months of anxiety and heartache. I felt so bad for her but as a parent, I knew that the choice to change was the right one. We have had so many conversations about this and she just struggled. I think the fact that we only live 15 minutes from her best friend just made it worse to move schools because were weren't moving far away.

So Monday, the first day of school finally arrived and it was great for everyone else - just fine for my 3rd grader. She was blah about the whole thing. I knew something was up. And once I got her talking the truth came out. She missed her friend. She was afraid she would be replaced. And in turn she was afraid she would replace the bestie with a new one. She felt guilty because it was a great day, she made new friends and was happy. Ahhh... poor baby. We talked more. I told her it was okay for her to have friends at school. She needed that! But that doesn't mean the BFF bond between the two of them was going away. It would still be there. I think she listened some, understood some and went into Tuesday a little better.

And Tuesday was a great day - and she said so.

I journaled the whole story...

And I finally used the new stencil I bought. Love it!

Most of the stuff I used for this page are what is left of my Dear Lizzy Neapolitan collection. I am down to the scraps! I can't wait for the new releases!!!

Happy Monday everyone! Thanks for stopping by!

From the youngest to the oldest...

All three girls are back in school. Kindergarten last week and now it is high school. Where did that come from. High school???

I had this conversation not too long ago (and about 4 other times in the last 4-5 months.)

Me: I am not old enough to have a high schooler.
Her: Yes you are.
Me: No, really, I am way to young for this!
Her: Maybe... but you do.
Me: Do you think you could stay in 8th grade for awhile so our ages can get better in line?
Her: No.
Me: Maybe just one extra year in 8th.
Her: Definitely not.

Bribery didn't work, so I am now a mom to a high schooler. YIKES!

For this I have used the new Little Yellow Bicycle collection Making the Grade. You can see my full supply list on the LYB blog.

So, now I guess I can see how strong my heart really is!!!

Wish me luck. Thanks for stopping by!

Today was...

the first day of school for my baby girl. I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! Kindergarten! Where did the time go?

And she was so ready. Dear hubby and I walked her to her room, but she knew the way already. She put her backpack in her locker, her lunch box in the basket. She kissed me goodbye one more time then she needed, for me. And off she went to learn how it all works in big kid school.

I picked her up and got to hear all about her new friend, who on the first day of school is already halfway to BEST friend. She wants to wear her jumper again on Monday because it is so cute and WHY do they think she already needs two days off!! She told me that it was the best day of her whole life.

That is cool.

And because I did nothing all day besides wonder how her first day was going, I edited the photos I took this morning, loaded some to Facebook, and finally decided that a page was necessary.

Talk about up to date, right? LOL.

Anyway, Monday the other two start school. I will need to get productive with my time soon, but I am giving myself Monday off too. The other girls need their first day pages done too!

Have a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

JBS Summer Games

The summer Olympics have been so much fun to watch. As a family we have spent many nights over the last couple of weeks watching all of the different events. Gymnastics, swimming, rowing, equestrian, you name it, we have watched it! One of our favorites are the running events, so we have been very attuned to those.

So over at Jenni Bowlin this month, inspired by the summer Olympic games, we are having out own JBS summer games all month long! Since we love the running so much in this house, I took running as my inspiration. Sure, I could have made a page about my own runner, but I do that all the time. Instead I thought about how those athletes look like they are flying when they are running that fast.

My train of thought: running - they look like they are flying - flying made me think of what flies - butterflies - which made me think of time flying away from me - TIME FLIES!

Ok, so maybe a roundabout way but it was inspired by running.

But check out the JBS Inspiration blog for more ideas and make sure you see the forum for all the details on the games. There will be prizes, so I do hope you will play along with us!

Happy Thursday! Thanks for stopping by!

Indigo Bleu by Pink Paislee

So I know everyone is patiently waiting for the newest lines to actually hit the scrapbook stores. (I know I am.) But while we all wait, we can spend the time remembering the fun stuff released at Winter CHA.

One of the last releases from Pink Paislee was Indigo Bleu. It is a cute line with colors and patterns that could work for either a girl or a boy - which is always nice.

I played with it the other day and was so happy because it worked perfectly with a recent iPhone pic that I had and really wanted to scrapbook.

I love the glitter on the die cut shapes and the little star stamp.

And the "be happy" stamp.

And just to tell, this is my youngest. And she crossed the monkey bars all the way by herself the other day. It was seriously celebration for us. I guess she really is ready for big kid school. At least that is what she tells me. :-)

Have a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

Little Yellow Bicycle and Epiphany Crafts

Little Yellow Bicycle and Epiphany Crafts decided to join up for a fun little product swap. I am a big fan of my Shape Studio tool and my Button Studio tool. I bought these little gems when they first came out and have enjoyed using them.

Anyway, I joined my Shape Studio tool with some LYB Splash to make a sign for my daughter's door. She is wanting to redecorate her room with a beachy theme.

I used the Epiphany Crafts shapes as bubbles from the sea creatures.

I hope my girl likes this! Make sure you check out the LYB blog this week for more joint projects! And make sure you leave a comment on the LYB blog for a chance at a PRIZE!!!! Actually there are two prizes - one from LYB and one from Epiphany Crafts! Who doesn't like that!

Have a great day! Thanks for stopping by!
