Sorry...

Hey all! I wanted to jump on and apologize for the nothingness here lately! It is summer, duh, and we have been going, going, going like crazy. It is totally fun and exhausting at the same time. But that is why the lack of projects lately.

But I am taking lots of pics and I have things in the works. Actually I think there is something going up in a couple of days, so bear with the bareness and I'll be back soon!

A couple of fun facts for you...

My car thermometer read 119 degrees today. HOT!

I read the first chapter of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone tonight to my youngest, which was fun. I love that book.

I keep getting bumped off the internet here because there are only so many devices allowed on at one time. Grrr...

My grandfather said he will build me a wooden cabinet with shallow drawers like a flat file or a printer's cabinet. Yay! The piece I have been looking for and a one of a kind.

I looked at 2000 old photos today my grandfather had scanned into his computer and set to music in a slide show. I cried a couple of times.

My girls have more bathing suits with them this week than they do outfits. We have our priorities.

I think we are going to see Brave tomorrow.

Life is good. Really good.

I'll be back soon with a project soon. Thanks for stopping by.

More summertime fun with LYB

I am out of sorts right now. I just seem to be swimming upstream! This page went up on the Little Yellow Bicycle blog on Friday and I am now getting it posted. Not good. Like I said, swimming upstream!

This is another page with the AWESOME Splash collection. Wow, I just love the colors and summery, beachy goodness of this line.

I just love all the little bits and pieces this line has. They all make me smile.

Have a great Wednesday all! Thanks for stopping by!

I tried a Smash like page...

It is all about what happened on this fabulous weekend - over Mother's Day weekend. It was just so much fun. Every second. It was one of those weekends you wish could happen EVERY weekend.

The funny thing about this was that I really struggled with it. I had the idea, topic, stuff, photos - but it was hard for me to get together. Luckily the SRM Stickers I used helped. They just worked so perfectly for the captions and title and such.

For the background, I actually used watercolor paper and painted it with watercolors. I just wanted something other than patterned paper and I wanted it a little messing and playful.

I hope you liked it! Check out the SRM blog for a listing of all the stickers I used.

Thanks for stopping by!

A whole package

In the new Shoreline collection from American Crafts there is a package of super cute summery die cut shapes. Some of them are journaling cards, but there are also things like a soda bottle and a snow cone. The colors are awesome and the summery theme is adorable. Anyway, I debated how to use these shapes. Do I spread them out over a bunch of different layouts, savoring each one but possibly not getting to use them all? Or do I just have a blast and use them all up on one page and be so excited that the package is empty? Well, I may wish I had more of the shapes later, but I went ahead and used them all!

For this layout, I sprayed some Lemonade Mr. Hueys on white cardstock then just layered shapes and tags around, under and over my photo! I did end up using a few other embellishment pieces as well like the cardstock stickers, dimensional stickers and a Dear Lizzy button, but no patterned paper.

Well, this screams fun to me! I can't wait for my girl to see it. The colors and energy will make her happy.

So have you gone ahead and used a whole package of something on one page before?? I'd love to see it!

Thanks for stopping by all!

Everything is pink!

Hello. I am a scrapbooker with three girls. I am going to admit something kind of shocking. I have a lot of pink supplies. Okay, so I bet most of you were not shocked at all were you. LOL.

There usually is not a problem with having a whole lot of pink, except of course when you are wanting to make a more masculine layout. But it can be done! See...

Lots of pink stuff, but it totally works for a guy.

I have a couple of tips too for this "problem". It is all up over at PaperCrafter's Corner this week. I hope you will check it out!

Have a great Wednesday and thanks for stopping by!

A couple of fun AC pages

Last week American Crafts was mixing it up by mixing lines. I got to play along. The new Shoreline collection works with both Dear Lizzy's Neapolitan and with Amy Tangerine's Sketchbook. So I really just shuffled everything up on my table and played. Here are my projects.

The colors are fun and I love seeing random bits of our life.

I am anxious for the weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

(BTW, did you see American Crafts design team call is going on? This is such an awesome team. You might want to check it out!)

Misty rainbows

I love rainbows. Of course, I love the real ones. When I was in St. Lucia years ago, I saw TWO in the sky at the same time. Amazing. I love it when you can see a rainbow in the spray of the garden hose. I love the beautiful multicolored rainbows my 5 year makes for me on a piece of printer paper with her markers. Rainbows are just cool. Which is probably why I think they are really fun to make with mists and other inks.

So I splurged on a bunch of new mists the other day. I bought a nice array of colors of the new Dylusions Spray Inks. I had heard these were really vibrant and that they are reactive with water (not that I get what that really means, but it sounds fun). Anyway, I was really just looking for the COLOR! So I got them, stabbed myself with a sharp pair of scissors trying to open them and then bled all over the place, but finally got to play. I made a rainbow.

It is so bright and colorful. It makes me smile.

She makes me smile.

I did not mist this rainbow. Instead I took the top off and used the tube to draw the lines on. I rubbed them pretty good on the paper too which made some of it splatter around, which I thought looked cool. The colors really are vibrant. I do need to admit though, that my purple is not the Dylusions purple. It is Mr. Hueys. I am not really a purple girl, so I did not get the Dylusions one. Of course I did not realize I was going to make a rainbow right away with these at the time I ordered them, but if I had, I probably would have bought it too.

So what symbol or miracle of nature or cool thing is something that makes you happy or smile? Share!

Have a great day all! Thanks for stopping by!

Vanilla cardstock

So, lately I feel like I have had a cardstock issue. I feel like I have become more and more blocked into one color cardstock. That being white. And honestly, I don't want to be stuck there. I like neutral backgrounds, but seriously, white only? Sometimes it is awesome to use white because colors really pop off of it, but usually when I get stuck on white I limit myself on patterned papers too because I don't like the cream on the white. I don't know. It is silly really. I love kraft too but that feels like it gets muddy sometimes. I used to use a cream or vanilla background all the time. I like the softness of it. But with my recent leaning towards white, I have struggled with the vanilla.

I broke the white rut Monday night though and after dusting off the vanilla, realized it was PERFECT for my project.

I used Dear Lizzy Neapolitan and Shoreline papers and embellies for the color and LOVE how perfectly it all goes with this photo.

There is some hidden journaling here on a little tag. I was going to have the journaling out but it ended up being kinda personal, so hidden works better.

Anyway, I hope you all have a great Friday and a totally wonderful weekend! I am looking forward to some fresh produce and maybe some time at the pool. Yay summer!

Thanks for stopping by!

The one and only here

He's dad, dear hubby, Jerm. He gets so much attention from the girls that has to almost hide to get a moment of quiet. They love him. So do I! So here is a layout that is just for him.

This is up on the Heidi Swapp blog today. I used her No Limits collection which is perfect for a "guy" page.

I needed to make this page. Dad is definitely underrepresented in the girl focused scrapbooks we have in this house.

Thanks for stopping by!

Summer has begun!

And we are so thankful that is has!! The girls love school and all but have been looking forward to a break. I'd love to say they are all sleeping in and having lazy days, but that really isn't the case. They are morning girls and during the day that love to go, go, go. Granted they are playing a bunch with each other, but there are still lots of activities. Once of the best was our lake day this past Saturday. Oh yeah, tubing was a lot of fun.

For this I used the new Splash line from Little Yellow Bicycle. It is so perfect for summery lake pages (or beach pages - those are coming later) or outdoors pages. Love it!

There are more summertime Splash pages over on the Little Yellow Bicycle blog today! Check them out.

Thanks for stopping by.

June JBS Mercantile Projects

Ok, this was such a fun month with the JBS Mercantile kits! I loved every minute with them and the pages I made.

I was walking at the soccer field with my youngest not too long ago and was amazed as she danced each step instead of just walking. It was so free and beautiful. I only had my phone with me to try to capture this incredible realization, and had to take it while walking. But I don't really mind the quality of the picture, I just want to remember how cool this is when she doesn't do it anymore.

I used a mix of the papercrafting kit, mini album kit and the artisan add on.

Next up is my super hero!

Yes, this is another app I got on my iPhone. I really love the photo apps. And I think it is pretty hilarious that I can turn any photo into a comic. LOL. This page was created with a mix of all the kits too but the background is actually the packing cardboard sheet included with the artisan. It was just such a great color and the perfect size! I love how the Wren papers pop off the kraft color.

This page is made entirely from just the papercrafting kit. The colors in Wren are so rich and beautiful.

My girls on the first day of summer break decided to take brown bag lunches out back to have a picnic. The dog even sat with them. I was standing on the deck and took this picture looking down at them. So summer.

Lastly...

My ode to the end of U8 soccer. The season was not great, but seriously, this last game made it all up to her. She made 4 goals - the only 4 goals of the whole game - and she felt great!

I used 3 different exclusive stencils on this page. Look in the June gazette for more on that!

Well, those are the projects I have for you today! I am going to try to get more done for the 10th, but my kit is getting so slim! And if you have time, check out the rest of the DT projects. These ladies are so incredible!

Have a terrific Tuesday! Thanks for stopping by!
