Pink Paislee gift wrap

So I love looking at gifts. Wrapped gifts. Especially ones that are homemade wrap jobs. Gorgeous! I really enjoy trying to make my gifts (for others) unique and as special on the outside as the gift on the inside it. I am not going to say I achieve this all the time, but I try. :-) Try.

So I wrapped a gift for Pink Paislee today. It is a birthday gift for a 14 year old girl (daughter's friend) and I wanted it to be fun like the recipient is.

So do you like to jazz up your gift wrapping??

Have a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

A couple of pages I have had here

I did these pages awhile ago. But I want to share them anyway. They are just me playing around with fun scrappy goodies.

So after listening to a bunch of old episodes of the Paperclipping Roundtable on my iPhone I found a bunch of new photo apps. Well, the apps are not new, but they are new to me. One of them was IncrediBooth. Hello!!! This is now one of the biggest hits for the girls. Well, everyone loves the photobooth look.

So of course it needed a layout, right?? Do you know how many of these photo strips I have saved on my phone now? It is nuts.

This next page is really just of a photo that I have had sitting on my desk for forever! I just love how my daughter's freckles POP in it. I love those freckles.

This is also the first time I had ever used the embossed cardstock. I sanded it so I could see the woodgrain pattern better. How cool! And where I have I been that I have never used this stuff?

Plus it worked so well because she was leaning up against a big ole tree in the picture.

Well, that is all for today. I just love this scrapbooking thing. Sigh.

Thanks for stopping by all! Have a great Wednesday!

More Jenni Bowlin goodness

My first blog post was up on the JBS Inspiration blog yesterday. I got to work with the new Wren line as well as the kraft stencil paper - which is awesome! I really love the blue in the Wren collection. It is so bold and rich.

I love playing with paints. I have found that using paints on stamps, while messier, is definitely more my style. And my favorite thing about paints is even though the can add color, they also can help to neutralize it. Like the background. I like a neutral background for my pages, but a little malted milk paint dabber helped tone down the beautiful pattern on the background paper so I felt like my photo was on a neutral background.

Plus, the paint adds to my story of the dirty feet. The messy paint and the messy kid. LOVE!

Have a great Tuesday all! I hope you long weekend (if you had one) was wonderful and relaxing.

6 x 6 pads are so much fun

They are! I love the scaled patterns and I love that I can use a bunch to layer and I do not feel like I am wasting a big huge sheet of paper for a little triangle. Have you tried using these little gems??? You need to!

So I recently had a post over at American Crafts where I had an assignment to use the new 6 x 6 pads. Awesome! Here are my projects.

And a card...

6 x 6 pads are great. Try them, you will like them!

Happy Friday! Happy Memorial Day! Thanks for stopping by!

5 Silly Faces for SRM (and a video!)

My oldest went to Washington DC with her class not too long ago. She had a little spending cash with her and instead of bringing home some Washington DC souvenir, she brought home a pair of glasses with an attached mustache. Needless to say we all had a blast with these and I snapped everyone in them with my iPhone.

So funny. I really liked how the mustache hit all of us in a different place. Like it was on my youngest's chin. LOL.

I created this page for SRM Stickers, using different number stickers they have available. Love these!!

I was also in the mood for a video and so I made one showing the process I used for making this page. Check it out!

I hope you have a wonderful Tuesday! Thanks for stopping by!

But I love you...

Don't you just hate when your kids come home all upset because some mean girl, or boy, hurt their feelings. My mommy senses start going off and my irrational side wants to hunt the little kid down and tattle on them myself. Of course, I know that does no good and we talk about it all and I try to help her be able to handle it on her own. But my heart is still broken for her.

So not too long ago my DD#2 was having problems at school with a mean girl and it was just wrecking her whole world. Tears and stomach aches all over the place. And when I later went to scrapbook one night after she finally fell asleep, all I wanted to tell her was that I love her, no matter what and even when she thinks no one does.

For this page I used mostly American Crafts Dear Lizzy Neapolitan. Seriously, it will be good when I am out of this so I can use a different color scheme. LOL. But I just love it SOOOO much that I keep going back to it. Maybe it won't be good when it runs out... Hmmmm.....

Anyway...

The life lessons for a 2nd grader are hard. They are hard for me too! Even more is trying to stay level headed when your child is in pain even when it really is just 2nd grade girl drama. Thankfully, I know we will both survive this and I am happy to report, the drama is over (for now) and all is well in the 2nd grade. Awesome!

Happy Monday all! And thanks for stopping by!

High waters

I know my girls have grown this year, I mean they are kids, right. Kids grow. But when you see them everyday like parents do, it is easy to miss the small changes. That is until it is no longer a small change.

My middle daughter... Her many new inches were undeniable when I noticed how SHORT her pants were! WOW! I mean they pants are more like capri pants now. These are her school pants that were hemmed for her in August and now she could ford a river in them. This growth definitely needed to be documented. For this page I used my May 2012 Jenni Bowlin kit that is one I purchased during my subscription.

This is like 3+ inches! And I am pretty confident that there is not really much shrinkage from washing. They are uniform pants. No cotton involved. LOL.

So once, I noticed just HOW short her pants were, I looked at the other girls, and they are the same. My oldest is almost as tall as me (YIKES!) and the youngest went from 37.5 inches the first week of school to 39.5 inches the last week of school. It is making me wonder if making them wear a brick on their head will slow the growth. I am not ready for this!! Time is going too fast!!!

Breathe. Breathe.

Well, happy Wednesday everyone. I hope you are having a fabulous day. Thanks for stopping by!

A Pink Paislee and Punky Sprouts track mini

My ode to our runner...

(For this mini album I used the new Pink Paislee Declarations line and a Trunk Punky album. So cool!)

Yeah, she totally rocks. I have had this idea in my head for two years, so I am not as cool as her. But it is finally together! I put her two best times in it and I still need to add a page of stats to show how much she has improved, but other than that, I have a fun record of her sport, well at least until next years season!

Happy Tuesday all! Thanks for stopping by!

Beginning the beach pages

I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day! Mine was excellent. And my family was so sweet and wanted to celebrate it all weekend long! They made me feel incredibly special. But now we are back to another week. It is already looking like it will be crazy busy here with the end of school approaching so rapidly!

Anyway... Last week on the American Crafts blog it was spray mist week! Such a fun theme. I love using spray mists. They are perfect for ink splats and unique backgrounds. The colors are so fun and playing with them is just awesome. Anyway, I was thrilled to be asked to use them on a project!

So here is my first beach page for 2012. We hit the beach over spring break in April for a few days. You know I love the beach. The girls all do too. I wish we could move there.

I made the rays with a 12 x 12 sheet of cardstock that I had cut a V shape out of. I used this cardstock as a mask for my misting. To get the gradual fade of the mist, I sprayed, holding it close to my background paper but on a slight angle. It can really make for a fun effect.

But wait! I made a card too!

Just a fun tie-dyed like background.

For these projects I used the new Dear Lizzy Neapolitan and Amy Tangerine Sketchbook lines.

Well, happy Monday all! And thanks for stopping by!

Woot Woot!

I made a project for this fun hop.

I made a flower garland using the Hello Spring paper flower kit and pretty Petaloo flowers.

My girls are fighting over who gets it in their room. I love that! I guess I will need to make a couple more of these!

Well, on to the next one! Enjoy the projects. Enjoy the hopping! Make sure to leave comments for your chance at some prizes!!!
