The Real Story

I love to take pictures of my girls. I take them every chance I get and even a lot that I force on them. Our annual beach trip is one place that I really push the issue of photos. The beach is my favorite place to be and they are my favorite people to be there with (along with dear hubby), so in the spirit of that year's Christmas card, I ALWAYS have a beach photo shoot. I take 300+ pictures of them in matching/coordinating outfits, which used to be all white dresses but I have loosened up that requirement. I get the perfect shot for my cards and the vacation is wonderful. Easy! (For me at least.)

They get annoyed. They don't really like it. And here is the truth about mom's forced beach photo shoots.

Yep. They were over it, big time.

But that was three trips ago. Two trips ago I did not get as much whiney annoyance. Instead, I got a bunch of photos of them doing their own thing and basically ignoring me! They grew up over the year and learned this new trick.

Well, this summer was something new all together. This summer was the photo shoot of craziness. They had great attitudes, lots of fun and they did the opposite of what I wanted pretty much the whole time! Their favorite pose was sticking their tongues out at me! I got a million of those! What do you think, should I use this on my Christmas card this year??

Probably not.

The girls think I should just give up the shoots. But then when would they have the opportunity to make me a little more crazy? Plus, even with their antics, complaints, crazy eyes and general "overness" they are with my forced photo shoots, these are all moments I want to keep too. So I guess I'll keep shooting.
